All players (18+) are welcome to come to training regardless of age, rugby experience or ability. In addition to the Moles XV, Gravesend RFC fields a further five teams so there is plenty of opportunity to play and enjoy rugby at the right standard for your experience and ability.
If you're new to the great game of rugby, Wednesday night training is a great environment to come into and learn more about the game. One of the many great things about the Moles is that a large number of us got into playing rugby later on in life and we know how dauntingly steep the learning curve can seem, so you can look forward to receiving lots of support and encouragement from right across the team. Just turn up any Wednesday in sports clothing/footwear suitable for the weather conditions and see how you get on. If you like it, you'll need to look into investing in a pair of rugby/football boots (with rugby approved alloy or rubber studs/blades) and a gum shield but other than that, you don't require any other specialist equipment to or even have a run out on Saturday shortly thereafter.
Shower and changing facilities are available and Moles love to replenish their bodies of the calories they have burned with a pint or two in the club bar after training.
As we suggest, just turn up one Wednesday and see how you get on. If you have any questions beforehand, drop us a line using the Contact Form.
